14 Mile Road and Orchard Lake Road Construction Starting Soon

Orchard Lake Road (13 Mile to 14 Mile)

14 Mile Road between Farmington and Orchard Lake roads in Farmington Hills will close starting next Tuesday for construction work, city officials reminded residents Wednesday.

Construction crews will be making road repairs, installing storm drains and upgrading water main lines. Crews will also be installing a new sidewalk on the south side of 14 Mile Road between Pear Ridge and Clubhouse Lane, officials said.

Construction crews will also begin working on the Orchard Lake project on March 21, officials said. Crews will be repaving Orchard Lake Road between 13 and 14 Mile roads. For most of the project, Orchard Lake’s northbound will be closed, while two southbound lanes will remain open.

But officials warned there could be times when the southbound lanes may be reduced to just one. Officials asked drivers seeking northbound to take the Northwestern Highway back to Orchard Lake Road.
